ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Academic entry requirement: Equivalent to New Zealand’s NCEA Level 3
English language requirement: You must have English language skills equivalent to an IELTS overall band score (Academic) of 6.0 (with no less than 6.0 for writing).
Students who have achieved a high level of English in academic results may apply for an IELTS exemption.
Otago Polytechnic recognises IELTS, TOEFL, PET and TOIEC scores as evidence of English proficiency.
Successful completion of our Certificate in Foundation Studies (ESOL) (Level 4) programme is an acceptable equivalent.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAMME RELATED COSTS: You should allow $200-$300 per semester to cover recommended text books and field trips.
YOU WILL STUDY:
You will learn through the use of case studies, completing workplace assignments and a major research project. You will complete a 400- hour internship, gaining hands-on experience and developing important industry and business connections. This degree will provide you with an understanding of business planning, start-up and operation, and allow you to develop the skills required to lead and manage a successful business.

Level 6 (Second year) • Applied Management
Level 7 (Final / Third year)
STUDY HOURS: In your first year, or first 8 papers under Fast-Track, course work will require approximately 18 hours of directed and 12 hours of self-directed study per week. As you progress through the qualification, directed study hours are reduced as your study becomes much more self-directed.
